Alright, I’m going to be honest… these two were crazy nervous about being photographed. I was pumped, but they were nervous. But did they really need to be? I mean… c’mon! They killed it! And they were brave! Check out the image in the middle of the busy road! I loved that they were down for that one.

Our Trip Across Ireland

January 3, 2014

Jessica and I decided that, to celebrate our 5 year anniversary and Jess graduating with her Masters from UNT, we would take a trip to Ireland. So we set off for Dublin, having booked nothing but our first night’s stay and rental car. We basically toured the entire country for 2 weeks, finding places to stay and things to do along the way. It was the best…

Stephen + Katy’s Filter Building Wedding

November 15, 2013

Katy and Stephen’s wedding was one for the books! It was on a cold overcast October day with a 50% chance of rain and an outdoor ceremony. These two had gone through so much trouble to make their ceremony perfect, so having it rained out was not really an option. They mounted a cross, covered it in flowers, had old church pews brought in and covered them in pillows of their guests… We. Lucked. OUT! The second the ceremony was over and the guests stepped inside, it started to pour! And I mean POUR! Someone was looking out for them…

We had such a good time with this couple, and their wedding (coordinated by the amazing Kristyn Hall of Event Elements) has seriously been one of the highlights of our year.

Diane’s Thistle Hill Bridal Session

September 7, 2013

thistle hill bridals dallas wedding photographer_0157.jpg

This has to be one of my favorite bridal portrait sessions to date! And one of the strangest too, might I add. Strange only because John (the groom) was hanging out with us during the session! At first, it caught me off guard when I heard he would be there, but once I got to thinking about it, I thought it was pretty cool… A couple that loves each other so much that they value their time together more than upholding traditions. Right on! So anyways, Diane pretty much KILLED it, and Thistle Hill fit her style very well. Check out our favorites…

Andy & Nikki’s Arbor Hill Engagement Session

August 16, 2013

plano arbor hills engagement photos_0021.jpg

I met up with Andy and Nikki for a jaunt around Arbor Hills Nature Reserve in Plano and then a trip to the West End for their engagement session. They chose Arbor Hills because this is where Andy proposed to Nikki, so it was especially significant to them. So, while jaunting, I was attacked by mosquitos (which my web browser is currently telling me is misspelled due to the fact that I refuse to capitalize the word out of spite), chiggers and a tiny little vicious rock that thought it would be funny to split my toe open (which I now believe is broken as well). But who cares about all that! We got some killer images! So we headed downtown, and while shooting around the West End, we spotted the Margaret Hunt Hill bridge about 5 minutes from sundown, and decided to race over there to shoot some photos on it. We were able to get some good ones, but got kicked off by the police. Over all, the main 2 words that come to mind when I think about this shoot… Worth it!

Patrick + Jackie’s 1899 Farmhouse Vintage Outdoor Wedding

August 16, 2013

1899 farmhouse outdoor vintage wedding

Patrick and Jackie got married at 1899 Farmhouse in Princeton, and Jackie pretty much killed it with the design. Their ceremony backdrop composed of a couple of old doors, all of their centerpieces, her bouquet, flowers, the guy’s ties, the boutonnieres … all made by Jackie. The weather ended up being perfect, but my allergies had my whole face swollen up. Thank goodness Jackie is a mom though, because she doctored me up with Baby Benadryl and eyedrops and we were good to go!

It has been such an honor to work with this amazing couple and I have been stoked out of my mind to post these images. We’ve been with these guys since the beginning of their planning process, and we have had so much fun! (Check out their engagement photos here or their camping themed engagement video that we shot here). Jessica and I have really grown to love this family like crazy and we are so happy they chose us to document this time in their lives!
