Earlier this year, we went to Colorado for a ski trip with our friends Clint & Lottie (of Grit + Gold & Bowtie Vintage Classics). On our way back from the mountains to the airport, we had planned on stopping at a few different places to get some photos, have lunch, and take in some of the scenery. Unfortunately, a blizzard decided to drop in on us, turning what should’ve been a 2 hour drive into an 8 hour drive and ruining all of our plans for the day. Right as the snow started to let up a little, we spotted a rest stop with a pretty awesome view. We jumped out, grabbed a couple photos, jumped back in, and headed home.

Travis & Jahneen’s Arbor Hills Engagement Session

April 16, 2014

I was pretty pumped to shoot Travis & Jahneen’s engagement session. Jahneen and my sister grew up together and she has been a SixFourteen fan since the beginning, so I was pretty much stoked when these two booked me to shoot their wedding. We started out in Frisco around the Heritage Museum and then ended up at Arbor Hills Nature Reserve in Plano. By the way, when you hear photographers talk about the “golden hour”, the shots towards the end are what they are referring to. That golden warm sunlight! It made for some awesome images.

JB and Missy’s Dallas Engagement Session

March 17, 2014

jb missy white rock lake bishop arts engagement session

Do JB & Missy look cold in these photos? I’m asking because it was negative 47 degrees when these photos were taken. Obviously I’m exagerating… that was just the wind chill. Seriously though, if Missy looks like she’s snuggling up to JB for warmth, that’s because she is. It was so cold that a hitchhiker was holding out a picture of a thumb (thanks for the joke, Google). Have I done a good enough job describing how cold it was that day? Because dang…

Alright, I’m going to be honest… these two were crazy nervous about being photographed. I was pumped, but they were nervous. But did they really need to be? I mean… c’mon! They killed it! And they were brave! Check out the image in the middle of the busy road! I loved that they were down for that one.

Our Trip Across Ireland

January 3, 2014

Jessica and I decided that, to celebrate our 5 year anniversary and Jess graduating with her Masters from UNT, we would take a trip to Ireland. So we set off for Dublin, having booked nothing but our first night’s stay and rental car. We basically toured the entire country for 2 weeks, finding places to stay and things to do along the way. It was the best…

Stephen + Katy’s Filter Building Wedding

November 15, 2013

Katy and Stephen’s wedding was one for the books! It was on a cold overcast October day with a 50% chance of rain and an outdoor ceremony. These two had gone through so much trouble to make their ceremony perfect, so having it rained out was not really an option. They mounted a cross, covered it in flowers, had old church pews brought in and covered them in pillows of their guests… We. Lucked. OUT! The second the ceremony was over and the guests stepped inside, it started to pour! And I mean POUR! Someone was looking out for them…

We had such a good time with this couple, and their wedding (coordinated by the amazing Kristyn Hall of Event Elements) has seriously been one of the highlights of our year.
