Happy Six Fourteen!

I am 100% unsure of why it never dawned on me to post special blog posts on June 14th of each year. Especially since that is the date I named my freaking business after! I’m kinda dumb sometimes :/ So anyways, say hello to the first annual Six Fourteen Day blog post! I’m 4 years late, but better late than never right?

So, as many people know, Jessica and I were high school sweethearts. We dated from freshman year of high school until we got married on June 14th of 2008 (again…hence sixfourteen ). Well when I proposed in 2007, I was working part time still and didn’t have a whole lot of money to spend on a ring, so I just got what I could afford. It wasn’t anything fancy, and it was actually the exact style she wanted, but as time went by, it began to bug me to see her ring and how small and yellow the diamond was compared to everyone else’s. I guess it’s a guy thing, but I wanted to be more proud of it. Not to mention, it was a constant reminder of how badly I got ripped off when I bought it. So we decided to go ahead and look into upgrading it to something she would like more, and something that I would be more proud of when she showed people. We ended up going through BOVA Diamonds, a diamond wholesaler in Dallas, and we got an AMAZING deal on it. We picked out the diamond, and they custom made the setting. Obviously, the minute we got home with it, I had to take some fun photos of it…

Our Vacation to Paris and Rome

Jessica and I have been EXTREMELY blessed to be able to travel a lot this past year. Vegas, Riviera Maya, Paris, Rome, Cabo, Florida… It has been a blast! But the best trip I have ever taken in my life, and one that resonates in my soul, was Paris and Rome this past December. We decided to do a non-traditional Christmas and spend it in another country. So after much deliberation, we decided on Paris, & Rome, neither of which do we even slightly understand the native language.

2 delayed flights, a “home alone”-esque run through the Amsterdam airport, one argument with a mean flight attendant (in which I earned myself a new nickname), a very large Heineken, and one more flight later we’re in Paris! We booked it a little late, so there wasn’t even an option for a ‘one stop’ flight. Worth it though! We stayed at a little hotel near the Eiffel Tower called the Tour D’ Eiffel. For the price, it was fantastic! Amazing and helpful staff, great breakfast, and perfect location! The room, as you can see below, was not big, nor was the bed comfortable or the temperature easy to control, but it’s Paris! Who cares!

I normally don’t do this, but I am going to tell the story along with the photos…
